I never thought I would be writing blogs. I did have a habit of writing diaries to preserve the cherished memories. But only recently did I realize that I could do the same thing with blogs and at the same time bore people to death… On a serious note, I got inspired by a few of my friends whose blog I read and they were simply awesome.
I believe that penning your thoughts on a piece of paper or on a computer does bring about a very soothing and relaxing effect. It helps you to ease out all the stress and many times serves as your best friend with whom you can share just about anything. With this note I shall begin my blogging career. How successful it will be, only time shall tell.
What better to begin with than to remember your past… So this edition is dedicated to my past…
How shall I forget thee?
The shortcuts to reach early to school,
Across the hillocks on which my bicycle rode.
Playing Scotland Yard with friends on summer afternoon,
My ever so enthusiastic cricketing mode.
The formation of our first college gang,
Innocently asking ‘Will you be my friend?’
That pretty lady who’s always seen with some guy,
Chatting in canteen about her new affair knew no end.
The very first movie after bunking lectures,
The entire row in the theatre full of us.
That giving endless tests and exams
And going from one private tuition to other in a rush.
The goosebumps that were felt so vividly,
Waiting outside college for first engineering score.
Congratulating the friends that did well,
Offering shoulders to the ones who could’ve scored more.
That first crush of my life,
Promising to wait for her till eternity.
That celebrating birthdays in hotels and parks and theatres alike,
And getting kicked out from all for being naughty.
That getting awed by the grandeur,
And the magnanimity of my first employment.
The real feeling of being grown up,
Whilst getting my first paycheck as per agreement.
Those scintillating Bombay – Pune trips
Going up and down every weekend.
That kicking off song fiesta with the same song,
Not singing in real terms but only pretend.
That emotional farewell night at work,
To welcome the exciting post grad.
The amazing two years at a B-school,
With memories ever so good than bad.
When I sit at my desk and retrospect,
I question, How shall I forget thee?
Alas, I wonder! Have I done enough,
To savor these moments for lifetime or will they just flee……….
I know this has been a long post. Would try and keep my posts shorter in future.
I would write again as soon as I find something interesting to share.
Till then,
Asta la vista.
